Laundry/Mudroom reveal is here!
Hello Everyone! I cannot tell you how excited I am to share our Laundry/Mudroom makeover. If this is your first visit to A Life Unfolding welcome, and thank you for stopping by!
To get you up to speed:
The One Room Challenge is a twice a year event hosted by Linda @callingithome along with media sponsor House Beautiful. The challenge invites 20 Design bloggers and over 150 Guest bloggers each of whom choose a room to design/update in 6 weeks (7 this round) and blog about their journey along the way!
Catch up on the last 6 weeks here:
Week 1/ Week 2/ Week 3/ Week 4/ Week 5/ Week 6
And without further ado...
Remember where we started:
The room is so small it was REALLY hard to photograph. So basically I have to show you guys one wall at a time.
I wrote last week about how much I have fallen in love with the navy cabinets and now you can see why. What an impact it made in the space. I mean SERIOUSLY! Look at that luscious NAVY!
The wood counter looks great but also gives me space to fold clothes and prevents things from falling in between and behind the washer and dryer.
My favorite part of the space is the accent wall we made from rope. It gives the tiny space a much warmer feel and I adore the texture. As a bonus it added a touch of nautical feel to the Lake House. The Rope wall truly KICKED our butt, it's 13 ft high and was a beast to assemble but sooo worth it.
The Laundry/Mudroom space is a pass-through at our house. Here is the view walking in from the garage. Here is an article from Porch.com that gives suggestions on defining entryway and. mudrooms
As always it's all about the details...in this case it's a reclaimed shelf with leather straps.
We added some new sexy hardware too.
Pottery Barn Bench ties together the straps on the shelf.
A couple of last peeks from the living room.
I have sooo enjoyed participating in the ORC. Lots of laughs, a few tears and time spent working side by side with my darling husband. What more could a woman ask for!?! I also want to take a moment to thank Linda @callingithome as I have had such an amazing experience getting to know my fellow participants and this design community at large. I will be back next spring! Don't forget to stop and see the Featured Designers here and My fellow Guest Bloggers here. I have been so inspired by all the beautiful spaces they have done and I am sure you will be too.
Until next time,
Libbie
