One Room Challenge Guest Room Refresh
I can’t believe it’s that time already! It’s once again time for the Fall One Room Challenge. I’m so excited and nervous and basically have all kinds of feels going on here. For those of you who have no idea what the ORC is this is how they define the bi-annual event “The One Room challenge™ provides participants with a supportive, enthusiastic forum in which to share the process of transforming a room. The ORC is not a competition, but rather a celebration of creativity, inspiration, and original idea’s”. Exciting right?!?!? Count me in!
Last year I participated in the Fall ORC by updating our Laundry/ Mudroom and I’m not going to lie...it was a STRESSFUL six weeks. I tortured my poor husband with an accent wall that looked like it would be easy but turned out to be VERY time consuming and I had a major painting fail which made me cry. In the end I have to say I loved the support I received and the fact that we were on a deadline helped us finish when we really would have rather have put it off. You can see the reveal here. I still adore the space. This year we are going to refresh our guest room at the Lake house. So let’s take a look at where we started when we bought the house two years ago.
I painted and added a bit of a boho feel along the way. It’s an improvement but I’ve never loved it. I want to have the space coordinate better with the rest of the house and be comfortable for our guests.
The plan:
Use a large scale wallpaper as an accent wall.
Paint
Update our bi-fold closet doors
Figure out a DIY headboard
Add plants to tie in more nature
New window coverings
New fan and lighting
Comfortable, easy care bedding
We live at the lake only on the weekends so this feels like a TON of work! Stay tuned to see if we pull it off as we will be updating our progress here weekly until the final reveal on November 8th.
Thanks to the ORC and Better Homes and Gardens for putting together this event.
Please check out all the WONDERFUL inspiration my fellow bloggers are working on here. I promise you will be impressed!
Until next time,
Libbie
