Eight blogs to read if you are looking for coastal decor inspiration
Hello!
Lately I have been all about coastal decor. If you follow me on Instagram and I hope you do, you know we are in the middle of rehabbing a distressed property that we are turning into a short term rental. The property is two blocks from Lake Michigan so when designing the interiors I really want it to have a laid back coastal vibe. I envision guests opening the door and seeing lots of natural light streaming in. I think of comfy furniture, wood floors and white walls with beachy blues and greens throughout. Can you see it too?!?!? Here is the Coastal mood board I am working on.
While I am immersed in all things coastal over here, I thought I’d take an opportunity to share eight blogs that are filled with beautiful coastal inspiration. These bloggers are sharing lovely spaces, DIY’s and gorgeous free printable! There is something special here for every coastal design lover. So grab a beverage and get ready to get your scroll on. While you are visiting stop and say hello. Okay, ready?
First up is:
Lisa at Shine Your Light
Lisa’s home is coastal casual perfection. Everyone loves a great before and after so don’t miss Lisa’s light and bright kitchen remodel it is filled with so many pretty details. I also love this herringbone tile. I’m thinking we should all meet at Lisa’s fire pit for s’mores this summer… I’m sure she wouldn't mind. ;) Follow Lisa on Instagram @lisashineyourlight
Let’s move on to our next share:
Danielle from Finding Silver Pennies
Danielle’s blog is filled with beautiful DIY’s I especially love this octopus dresser and her coastal pool house makeover just gives me heart eyes, but what stops me every time I visit her site are her gorgeous watercolors. Danielle, in addition to her Interior Design skills is a very talented artist. This is a Watercolor Bunny free printable she did for Easter but she has many beautiful prints on her site so be sure to look around. Follow Danielle on Instagram @findingsilverpennies
Now we are off to visit with husband and wife team:
Morgan and Sean at Charleston Crafted
Aren’t the two of them adorable? I love the mix of DIY’s both big and small they tackle on the blog. Wait until you see this dining table they made. I have put it on a wish list for my husband to make for my Christmas present. I also love this coffered ceiling in their nursery. Don’t miss this DIY post on extending a fireplace they did for the One Room Challenge. Follow them on Instagram @Charlestoncrfted
Now we are off to visit:
Maria from Simple Nature Decor
One of my favorite things to do in my own home or a clients home is to bring a touch of nature inside. Maria does this so well! Be sure to check out these bookends and this diy pillow and this DIY Easter Basket using recycled paper bags. Follow her on Instagram @simple_nature_decor
Need a refill? I’ll wait because your not going to want to miss:

Let’s go meet the sister duo:
Sonja and Jane at Sustain my Craft Habit.
How fun would it be to work with your sister? I love that they are working on a family cottage together. This Coastal Cottage Kitchen turned out charming. And this Lavender Sachet idea which I may use for an upcoming baby shower. Don’t miss this canvas planter which is perfect for the upcoming porch season! Follow them on Instagram @sustainmycrafthabit
Next up:
Carrie at Lovely Etc.
Carrie shares my love of a wood accent wall. Take a peek at her take here in her entryway. And her kitchen before and after (on a budget) is so good! Love that backsplash. And our last share for today:
Samantha at Little bits of Home
Samantha is all about sharing her DIY adventures. I adore the Star Wars theme bedroom she did for her son. This laundry closet gave me an idea I hadn't thought of for the short term rental property. As I mentioned before I have two baby showers coming up this summer and Samantha shared this paper flower tutorial that would look beautiful above the buffet don’t you think?
