Warming up the Master bedroom for Fall
Hello- Today I am going to share a quick Fall refresh I did in our Master Bedroom. I woke up this weekend craving all things warm and cozy. If you’ve stopped by the blog before you may already know this but… I LOVE all-white bedding. It’s perfect for the summer. White bedding feels crisp, clean, and is easy to mix and match. I love it so much all the bedrooms at our Airbnb have white bedding. But now that Fall is in the air here in Michigan and the leaves are turning right outside our windows and I just feel the space needed warming up. Here is where we started.
I started by switching out the rug. This was the one purchase I made for the refresh. I chose a Loloi rug with some golds and oranges which just feels like Fall to me.
Once I had the rug in place I knew it was going to work. It was just enough color to add warmth while still working with what was already in my room. With that, it was time to shop the house. We recently moved to this house full time after renting our house in Grand Rapids so we have plenty to shop from. to be honest our basement currently reminds me of a badly merchandised consignment shop. More on that space later. I found a large leaning mirror that was in our living room at the Grand Rapids house.
I had in my closet a quilt set I picked up for a steal at Nordstrom Rack last summer in a light denim color and added that along with an Anthropologie pillow that was in my old guest room. I love the color combo together and the mustard is my current color design crush! I added a scarf (also from Anthro) that is oversized that just tied it all together. FYI using an extra-large scarf is a great way to add color to chairs, sofas, and beds for less money than a full-size throw.
Here is is all pulled together.
I added some lovely hydrangeas from my yard. I love foraging my yard to add flowers to my home.
I moved a few plants in from my patio. We are expecting a frost next week so it was time.
I found these cute little fabric pumpkins here on the side table and dresser at The Found Cottage they add a little texture.
That’s about it. Everything was shopped from the house except for the rug so for less than $200.00 it feels warmer and cozier. I like it so much it will most likely stay like this until I bring a Christmas tree in here for the holidays. :)
That’s it for today.
Until next time-
xx,
Libbie
