Simple and neutral Christmas Home Tour
Hello Everyone,
Today is a very special day here on the blog. My friend Eileen from Sand Dollar Lane has invited me along with some super AMAZING blogging friends to share our holiday with you. If you are not quite feeling the spirit of Christmas yet, I think this may do it. We have Christmas home tours, DIY gifts to share (or keep for yourself) and some gorgeous holiday table settings. So settle in, turn on some Harry Connick Jr., grab a cup of holiday cheer, maybe light a Gingerbread scented candle and enjoy!
Before we start a big hello if you are visiting from Sarabeth’s The February Fox. Hello and thank you for stopping by!! Cheers to the Holidays!
This season I am keeping my decor simple and neutral. I am all about bringing in nature and practicing intention in my home. Reminding myself that less can be more. So far it feels soothing and perfect at this point in our lives. As Empty Nesters we will be celebrating this Christmas at our Lake Home and will have company coming in and out for over two weeks. The less fuss the better. So welcome and let’s get started with the Master Bedroom.
Master Bedroom:
Do you decorate in your bedroom? I started a few years ago and I have to say I love it. It feels cozy and romantic. I like to keep it simple with a soft color palette and lots of textures. The neon peace sign is so pretty lit at night.
I love to add touches of greens and fresh flowers throughout the house. They smell wonderful and add a festive touch.
Living Room:
Moving into the main living space and our main tree.
Even as I have scaled back a bit I have to keep up our traditions. This Angel has been on our tree for years after I dropped the 80’s Angel that lit up under her skirt that we also had for years. My girls saw this one day and said “Mama, she looks like you”, I was never sure if it was the hair (??) or what it was but as weird as she is….we love her.
Last year I was looking for a new way to display stockings and I put a few on this ladder until I could figure out what I wanted to do with them. I ended up liking it so much I kept them there.
Den:
Our den serves as our TV watching, book reading, extra sleeping space that we all congregate towards. There is not a ton of space so I decorate in small ways.
Scented candles are my love language. This time of year they are usualy scents that remind me of baked goods. This one is Sugar Cookie.
Dining Area:
Our dining table is small and only fits six so we actually serve buffet style this time of year. But when we have a smaller crowd I love to set a more whimsical table setting even at the holidays. I love these plates I found a few years ago at Anthropologie.
Some texture, a little greenery and a bit whimsy.
Our Breakfast nook is across from our dining area and its beautiful shelves almost make up for not having a mantle to decorate this time of year!
Bathrooms:
Even our bathrooms are decked out with small, festive touches this time of year.
Last but not least. This is our covered porch and can be seen across the lake. I leave the wreath up all year long but only light it during the holidays. I love it and it makes me heart happy.
That’s it for my portion of today’s tour. Thank you so much for stopping by. Next up in our Holiday hop is my friend Julie from @myweeabode who is sharing a lovely Christmas DIY. Stop over and tell her hello from me. Don’t forget to visit all the other marvelous bloggers. All this Christmas decor is sure to put you in a holiday mood.
