7 ideas for a gorgeous fall wedding
Both of my daughters have gotten married in the last year, Whew! I’m starting to feel like a pro over here. It has certainly been a year filled with celebrating love. Bridal showers, Boozy brunches, and Spa days have reigned. It’s been busy, but I have loved every minute of it. I learned so much from helping plan the events (especially the decor) I thought I’d share some of the ideas we found and tips that we learned along the way. The first wedding was in September 2018, and since I have already written about her Garden Themed Bridal Shower, let’s talk about my favorite tips and ideas for a Fall Wedding.
1. Take advantage of the Fall Blooms.
With fall foliage comes a beautiful array of seasonal shades, from berry-tones to blooms bursting with a mix of Burgundy and oranges. You have chosen a gorgeous time of year to get married. Let your flowers show it off.

Be sure to add your favorite flowers. My daughter loves Protea and made sure to have them in her bouquets.
You can mix faux flowers with your fresh to get the perfect color combos.
2. Home decor can be wedding decor.
Shop your house. We used a screen (used as a headboard in my guest room) for the table seating tags. We used a set of more boho feeling screens to separate the Wedding from cocktail hour. Vintage brass candle holders that I already owned were the perfect Fall touch. Shop Goodwill (put your bridesmaids and family members on the hunt with you) to round out the perfect amount. Vintage furniture can be used to set up a pretty Fall vignette. Look around your family’s homes, and you may find the perfect pieces.

The banner and hoops added a touch of greenery. And covered a bare spot in the venue.
3. Personalize it.
My daughter chose this pretty floral pattern and added it to several wedding items, allowing the berry colors to pull the other elements together.
My Son-in-Law is talented and was able to draw their likeness for the Wedding Programs.
You can find signs like this from all types of sources. Etsy, has a ton of options.

4. Fall is the perfect time to add metallics to your wedding!
Fall is filled with gorgeous saturated colors, so why not let your Fall Wedding reflect what is going on outside. Beautiful Burgundy, deep blues, oranges, and greens all can add that gorgeous Fall feeling. Add some beautiful metallics to add some sparkle. The color can just be added through linens, flowers, decor. Think big with color, as you can always edit down later on.

Burgundy, Blush and Greenery make a beautiful statement.

5. Don’t forget to decorate the bar area.
Your guests will spend some time in line at the bar, so make sure it’s pretty! Signs announcing your cocktails, flower arrangements, candles, or simply photos of the couple. Just make it pretty.
We “borrowed” the bridesmaids bouquets to add a pop of fall color behind the bar. They were of course given back at the end of the evening.
This was made by a family friend who is a Graphic Designer. Etsy has tons of options too.
6. Wedding Favors
Let your wedding favor choices reflect the season. Cider donuts, pumpkin scented candles, maple syrup, the list is endless. Let the weather guide you. Below my daughter and her husband chose a “his and her" favor of Vanilla flavored coffee and hot cocoa.

7. Greenery
Greenery for wedding decor is perfect year-round but is especially beautiful this time of year. It highlights all that gorgeous fall color and brings a touch of nature to your decor.
The greenery here makes the tablescape.
Eucalyptus is in season in the Fall and makes gorgeous garlands!
That’s it. I hope if you are planning a Fall wedding, you enjoy it as much as I did. Remember to enjoy the process.
