One Room Challenge Week Six Update
Hello Friends-
Checking in for week six of the Spring One Room Challenge. Week five was cancelled in support of #blacklivesmatter and I was so happy to see the ORC team step up on such an important moment in history. Please see their entire post here which includes resources and links to articles and organizations educating and combatting racism.
On to more frivolous things. This would normally be the last week of the One Room Challenge. THANKFULLY it was extended to eight weeks this season due to the Stay at Home orders and the pandemic we are in the middle of. Gotta love 2020 so far right??? So that brings us to the last two weeks.
If you missed where we started and where we are you can find those posts here:
WEEK ONE / WEEK TWO / WEEK THREE / WEEK FOUR
So what can I say about the last two weeks? Well just like the rest of 2020 it has been CHALLENGING! I fully recognize that we took on an enormous task this season, but geez…even with this ORC’s theme being using what you have we have been faced with set back after set back.
We under estimated how much tile we needed in the kitchen and had to beg the wonderful people at The Tile Shop to help us find more.
Forget hiring trades right now. Although they are back to work in Michigan they are so far behind they are booked through the Fall. So we did 98% of the work ourselves using YouTube to help us along the way.
We have so many partially finished projects I am not sure what to share.
We have to finish staining the shim project:
And finish staining the bar.
And so much trim! Plus more painting…..
So yes, If you are looking at this and thinking…are you worried you won’t get it all done?? YES!! But we are going to try very hard and I am a design warrior so we will be working it to the very last moment.
Check out the One Room Challenge Featured Designers here do you have a favorite so far? . They are all rocking it!!! Don’t forget to check my fellow guest participants progress here. Everyone has really upped their Design game this round.
Until next time,
-Libbie
